As a psychiatrist, I see firsthand the power of exercise and social activity in preventing and treating mental health conditions. If group sports like football were a pill, it would undoubtedly be widely prescribed. By breaking down barriers to accessing exercise and social networks, Footy Addicts has created one of the most effective social platforms and interventions for mental health launched in this country. The creation of Football for All will hopefully enable more people to access and benefit from the power of football.

I have the pleasure of playing in Football for All social games on a personal level, enjoying football in an environment where players have a rich football culture, good manners, and great respect for each other.
On a professional level, as a West London NHS Trust mental health practitioner, we are fortunate to collaborate with Football for All and benefit from the support of its leadership team. Their work helps us use football as a unique, non-medical approach to preventing mental and physical health difficulties in the community. It also supports those already facing challenges by improving their wellbeing through the game. So far, our outcome measures show an average 80% improvement across 14 key areas for participants in our football sessions.
I highly recommend Football for All as the best place in the UK to access inclusive football, have fun, and improve wellbeing.
