Across the UK many adults want to play football again but feel there are not enough accessible places to do it. Confidence, busy lives and not knowing where to start can all get in the way. This new partnership between Leisure United and Football for All opens up more casual football games at high quality local venues. Everyone is welcome to turn up, be themselves and play.
Creating easier ways to play football
At Football for All the belief has always been simple. Football should be easy to access, friendly and open to everyone. Leisure United shares that same belief. Their venues are part of local life and are places where people already go to move, meet others and feel comfortable.
By working together both teams are opening up more regular recreational football opportunities at Leisure United venues so more people can play close to home.

Where games are already happening
Games organised by Football for All are already running at Leisure United venues in:
- Sheffield
- Liverpool
- Derby
- Wednesbury
- London
These games are open to adults aged 18+ and welcome all skill levels. Some people have played all their life. Others are pulling on boots for the first time in years.
Why this community partnership is so important
According to Sport England only 63.7% of adults meet recommended activity levels. That leaves a lot of people wanting to move more but unsure where to start.
Casual football helps because it feels normal. You turn up, you play, you laugh and you go home feeling better.
Through local games we see people build confidence week by week. We see friendships start without forcing conversation. We see people say this is the highlight of their week.
Football gives people a reason to show up and a place where they belong.
What a Football for All game feels like
These are social games played in a friendly atmosphere.
- small sided games that keep everyone involved
- mixed levels with teams sorted on the night
- no referees, just respect and common sense
- no long term commitment, you can play when you want
You do not need to be good or fit. You do not need to know anyone. The football community will welcome you with open arms.
